About Us

Soon after the turn of the 20th century, a successful farmer from the Madison Wisconsin area moved north to Holcombe and established a self-sufficient farm for his wife and family of fifteen children. This farmstead and its surrounding acreage were purchased by Alan and Sandra Ricker in 1991.They initially wanted the land for the support of their Morgan horses and rented the house for several years before renovating it, turning it into the Happy Horse Bed & Breakfast and bringing it back to its former country charm by decorating in the style of the early owners.

Sandra retired nine years ago and busies herself with her passions; her horses, her flower gardens and card stamping. Alan, semi-retired, loves carpentry and woodworking. Some of his best works are displayed throughout the bed and breakfast.
